Fearing Ghosts!

" When the disciples saw him, they screamed in terror, thinking he was a ghost."
Matt 14:26

In our own circumstances we often perceive what is not. Seeing what we chose to see and failing to acknowledge what really is the greatest failure of humanity. We become fear stricken by our losses, diagnosis, and hopelessness.

The disciples saw the storm but did not recognize the one who could calm the storm. They had just seen their Lord as provider by feeding the multitude , yet they failed to see their Protector.

Behind every ghost in our lives, our Provider and Protector can be found. He gave Peter a way out by trusting Him. Peter walked on victory until he looked at his ghost, the high waves and the winds, and then began to sink.

Look behind every ghost in your life and you will find the strong arms of the Lord outstretched and inviting you to trust Him.

The Problem with Discomfort

I sat and pondered of relationships I have known, of both my own and those of others well known to me. I have seen would-be-good marriages go by the wild side and would-be-good friendships gone by the way side; all for the sake of avoiding discomfort.
Webster described "discomfort- to make uncomfortable or not at ease.

The problem with discomfort is the lack of it. In any kind of relationship comfort creates complacency.Discomfort creates a continuous act of stimulation in relationships. It is a lack of comfort that still sends Hallmarks on no special occasion and sends flowers just to say "Thinking of You".

Discomfort allows us to not take for granted our loved ones, husbands, wives, children and friends.

Just starting!

I committed to journaling this year....another New Year's resolution...hopefully I can keep. Though I did keep last years, so to me I give some credit! Even if know one else will!

I am still figuring how to do this techno stuff. But I am not too old to learn.
Lots of thoughts to enter. Lots of feelings to share.
